Immersive Shakespeare
Lauren co-produced “Shakespearean Lovers Lawn Game Tournament,” and “Shakespeare Game Night,” in August 2018 at Hampton Station in Greenville, SC with Sara Tolson. Lauren directed both events. The “Shakespearean Lovers Lawn Game Tournament; or much about doing nothing,” was an hour-long immersive theatre performance, which invited the audience to play bocce ball, corn hole, and badminton with their favorite Shakespearean couples. The production features local actors, Drew Whitley, Jaimie Malphrus, Sara Tolson, Josh Barnes, Sims Hall, and Cameron Trieper.
Lauren was one of six directors working on The Woolgatherers' production of Genesis 22 on Governor's Island in July. Genesis 22 was in immersive theatre piece which allowed audience to explore and discover different interpretations of the Abraham and Isaac story. By exploring an old story through the intersection of their artistic forms, the Woolgatherers' goal was to discover a deeper understanding of this story of faith.
